“You need to be seriously careful if you come here,” he warns in the caption.
Sellitto lists three reasons why he believes visitors should “think twice” about venturing into the pyramids, starting with the physical demands of the journey.
The Physical Challenge
To reach the main interior of a pyramid, visitors must crouch and climb through tight spaces for an extended period.
“You have to climb on your knees for about 30-40 minutes,” Sellitto explains. “It gets exhausting, like an obstacle course.”
The confined pathways are made even more challenging by the intense heat. The video shows tourists bent double as they navigate the narrow passageways. For Sellitto’s friend, the tight quarters proved hazardous—she hit her head on one of the low ceilings.
